Open enrollment for Kindergarten for the upcoming 26/27 school year is Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Enroll at your neighborhood school (see school list below).

If you cannot make it to open enrollment night, you can still submit your information for enrollment by clicking here.
Requirements for enrollment are:
- A child must turn 5 before August 1, 2026 in order to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten
- Parents/Guardians must live within the Jackson R-2 attendance area.
- At the time of enrollment, you must have:
- child's official birth certificate (or passport, visa, hospital record)
- immunization record (must be provided before child can attend)
- social security number (card) (provision of SSN is voluntary, the school district uses the SSN to determine Medicaid eligibility for direct services)
- parent/guardian photo ID
- proof of residency (acceptable proofs are: utility bill/agreement, rental agreement/receipt, property tax statement for the residence, real estate contract).
