Jackson R-2 Online Open Kindergarten Enrollment for the upcoming 23/24 school year will be February 21st - 24th.  You will call the elementary school for your specific attendance area. The seven schools are listed below. If you are unsure which attendance area you reside in, click here to check your address, or call our transportation department at 573-243-9507

*If you miss the open enrollment week don't worry!  You can still contact the school building for enrollment instructions.  For more information on enrolling, click here.

Requirements for enrollment are:

  1. A child must turn 5 before August 1, 2023 in order to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten
  2. Parents/Guardians must live within the Jackson R-2 attendance area.
  3. At the time of enrollment, you must have:
  • child's official birth certificate (or passport, visa, hospital record)
  • immunization record (must be provided before child can attend)
  • social security number (card) (provision of SSN is voluntary, the school district uses the SSN to determine Medicaid eligibility for direct services)
  • parent/guardian photo ID
  • proof of residency (acceptable proofs are:  utility bill/agreement, rental agreement/receipt, property tax statement for the residence, real estate contract).

  • East Elementary, 455 N. Lacey, 243-5271
  • West Lane Elementary, 338 N. West Lane, 243-9565
