FCCLA had about 50 members in 2007-08. 10 students competed at districts.
7 students won district contest in 4 different events and advanced to state: Chapter Service Project display won a gold at state, Impromptu speaking won a silver at state, Focus on Children Display won a silver at state, and FCCLA Knowledge won top gold at state and Michael Murphy was the state winner in this event-no national event in this area. FCCLA raised over $400 for the American Cancer Society for our Sell A Gown event. The club also raised funds and received donations for Shoebox Ministries and filled 12 shoeboxes for children in the war torn country of Iraq. Two regional officers from Jackson were Paige Clark, Recreational Leader and Nicholle Hinkle, Secretary. Andrea Moore was elected as a new regional officer--Parliamentarian.
