Jackson R2 Parent Partnership Council--Teacher Recognition Celebration
On Monday, May 12, the Jackson R2 Parent Partnership Council hosted their first Teacher Recognition Celebration at Jackson Junior High School. The Parent Partnership Council is an organization made up of about 30 parents of students with disabilities and school staff. The group's purpose is to raise awareness about disabilities and promote a partnership between parents and school staff, providing support and education to both parents and school staff in order to improve the lives of students with disabilities. District-wide, seven Jackson R2 teachers were recognized after being nominated by families of the students they serve. They are Mrs. Diana Diebold, Mrs. Diana Felker, Mrs. Nancy Thompson, Mrs. Amy Altenthal, Mrs. Shelly Stone, Mrs. Diana Paullus, and Mr. Darrin Scott. These teachers, together with the students who nominated them, their building principals, members of the Parent Partnership Council, and representatives from both the school board and the Jackson R-2 Foundation, joined together for an evening of recognition and fellowship. If you see the teachers that were recognized, congratulate them for their achievement.
