Jackson R2 is proud to offer a summer school program for students entering first through fifth grades in the fall of 2012. The program is designed to provide educational enrichment activities that expand upon what was taught during the school year. We encourage all students to attend. Each grade level will have its own theme and special activities!
The program will be held from May 30th-June 20th, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM, a total of 16 days, for 1st-5th grade students. Breakfast ($1.50) and lunch ($2.35) will be served. The kindergarten summer school program (students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2012), will be in session Monday through Friday, June 4th-June 15th. Kindergarten students will be assigned a morning session OR an afternoon session after enrollment. Morning session kindergarten students will be the only session that will have the option to purchase a meal (breakfast $1.50). Please call Jackie (243-9555) for any additional questions regarding dates or times. At this time, all elementary classes are scheduled to be held at South Elementary.
Programs are also available for incoming 6-7th grade students. Please contact Christa Turner at 243-9543 or check the school’s website for more information regarding those programs.
After School Kids’ Club program (Kindergarten-5th grade) will be available for those families that need additional child care following summer school. The fee for ASKC summer program 1st-5th grade is $87.50 and covers May 30th-June 20th. The kindergarten students that are in the afternoon session of summer school may participate in the ASKC program for $55 which covers the 10 days of summer school June 4th-June 15th. Your child’s summer school teacher will walk your child down to the cafeteria every day after summer school. The program ends promptly at 5:45 p.m.
Please mark your calendars now! Enrollment forms will be sent home in the third quarter report cards of R-2 students and will be available on the school’s website in mid-March.
