P.S.A.T. / N.M.S.Q.T (Juniors & Sophomores)
The Prelimiary Scholastic Aptitude Test / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a two hour version of the new S.A.T. The PSAT/NMSQT measures verbal and mathematical abilities important in college work. Juniors who wish to be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be awarded in the spring of 2011 should take the PSAT/NMSQT in October 2009. The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered at Jackson High School on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 first-fifth hours. Cost: $13 Register in the Counslors' office with payment.
Scholastic Aptitude Test (S.A.T.) - Usually taken early in the senior year or late in the junior year.
The S.A.T. has long been used as a college entrance test for high school seniors. This test is required by many colleges around the country as either an entrance examination or to qualify for certain scholarships. The S.A.T. costs vary depending on which test you elect to take. Calculators are encouraged. The SAT is given at Cape Central on these dates: Refer to Registration booklet for test sites.
